October 10 marked a special milestone for the Groene GGZ (Green Mental Health Care)! On this International Mental Health Day, thirteen mental health care institutions were designated as green icon locations.
Thirteen mental health care institutions recognized as Te Gek Groen icon locations
The icon locations receive support through the Te Gek Groen program from IVN and Nature For Health additional support to transform their grounds into a more biodiverse and healthy environment. They serve as an inspiration, demonstrating what nature can mean for clients, healthcare staff, and the local community.
The Groene GGZ celebrates entering a new phase with this program, in which it becomes increasingly normal and easier for more and more mental health institutions to use nature as a co-therapist in care.
The Te Gek Groen Program makes a substantial contribution to achieving the goals of the Healthy Green Care Grounds Action as a healing environment within the Health Domain of the Collectief Natuurinclusief.
The Te Gek Groen program is supported with nearly 2 million euros by Nationale Postcode Loterij.
